Because of Love

Hi, and thanks for joining me today on a 'Walk of Faith'!

This week we find ourselves in the middle of the Advent Season and as we're going around with the Advent candle lightings in our Sunday service and we talk about the candle of hope and peace and joy and love, and the Christ candle in the center of course, I'm always reminded of this verse from Romans 15, verse 13, which has a tendency to want to summarize all of the qualities that are listed for us at Advent. So hear these words:

"I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace as you trust in Him. Then you will have more and more hope and it will flow out of you by the power of the Holy Spirit."

It's a reminder that all three qualities, hope and joy and peace, are present in this verse and that love is the reason why God gives us and grants us these incredible gifts. It is God's love for each one of us that allows hope and peace and joy to be a part of our lives, and it is that same love that you and I are called to and asked to share with the people around us in order that they might experience God's hope and peace and joy in the same way.

So as we draw closer to this season of Christmas, I pray that this time of preparation that we call Advent will be one where we can reflect upon how blessed we have been to have hope and peace and joy and love and especially because we have Christ.

God's blessings to you all. Be safe.
