Hi, and thanks for joining me today on a Walk of Faith!
I want you to listen to these words from the fourth chapter of the book of 1 Thessalonians. This is what Paul says:
"Brothers and sisters, now I have some other things to tell you. We taught you how to live in a way that will please God and you are living that way! Now we ask, and encourage you in the Lord Jesus, to live that way more and more."
You see, Paul was the chief cheerleader for the Thessalonian church. He said, "You made a great start. Now keep going!" Well, the great cheerleader is here for you and so: First Presbyterian Church of Conrad, you made a great start. Keep going!
Your best days are ahead of you! God's got some amazing things he wants to accomplish not only in this congregation but through this congregation and out into the communities we serve. And so we have a wonderful future to look forward to with many exciting possibilities out there. And I know God wants you to be a blessing to this community. To continue to be that.
So, let's go into the days to come with an expectant attitude. A heart that is open to saying, "God what would you have us do today and in the series of days to come?" And we'll look forward to seeing what God does.
A reminder also that this is Memorial Day weekend. And let me encourage you to take a moment not only to remember those who have sacrificed their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we have in this country, but also to take a moment to think about those who have gone before you. To pave the way for who you are. And then reflect for a moment on the witness and testimony that you are leaving behind for those who are to follow you.
It's a time to understand that we are one link in a continuing chain of witness for Jesus Christ.
Continue to be well, and we'll look forward to seeing you in person for worship on June 7th!
